Starts with Voynov or Toffoli most likely. So no dice.

Why would the Jets even ask for Voynov when they have 3 Righty defensemen. That doesnt even make sense. I think there are other assets to make it happen. But it would be hard to not consider moving Toff for an actual LW whos got a high ceiling.

I would move Toffoli for Kane without a doubt, as I'm sure Lombardi would as well. That's the real issue, though. The real problem is the "+" the Kings would need to add which would likely be a deal breaker. The Jets wouldn't be looking for bottom line guys as the additions to Toffoli. It would likely be something like Toffoli+another top prospect+1st+another pick.

I like Kane's stats except for his pim's......more than Carcillo's avg. This season. He would be a tough pick up with the numbers he's putting up. He has a cap friendly contract too...........I dont know what the Jets needs are but I'd do a Brown, Vey, a first and maybe throw in a kozun or weal or maybe even Zykov

It would be Toffoli plus Greene plus more. We'd need to clear up almost 6 million in cap space and Toffoli at less than a million, and Greene at just under 3 million wouldn't either. Lewis, they wouldn't want, Clifford isn't enough, Mitchell, likely no, Martinez would leave LA with a bigger hole on D.

So in order to land Kane we need to part with one of Kopitar, Carter, Brown (+), Williams (+), Stoll (+), Richards, Doughty, Voynov (+), Toffoli (+), Greene (+) and in a few cases more. Kane isn't more valuable than those players, especially the ones that would need additional moves to create the cap space needed.

Stupid move and stupid rumor that was pulled from someones fourth point of contact.

I didn't realize Nic D was playing a wing... If heard people raving over this kid. How are his hands??? I know they've gotta be softer than Browns, but what are we talking here??

We wouldn't need the entire $6m this season. And I was under the impression we were under better cap circumstances come this off-season. It's entirely doable, especially if we move 2-3 pieces in the process. Kane would wicked deadly with Richards and Carter or Kopi and Williams.

It's not a stupid rumor. Chevy was quoted a while back that he wasn't actively shopping Kane at that point, but he was getting serious offers for him. By now he's likely discussing future options with the any offers he's hearing.

Do we really need and/or want Kane? I would say no, stay with what we got, and if possible upgrade in the offseason when it won't cost us a s much as these rumored deals. We ain't desperate and all we have to do is get into the playoffs, not win the division.

Quick has an incredible pain threshold as evidence by his winning the Stanley Cup with a bad back that needed surgery after the season ended, so hopefully he doesn't push himself to hard and allows himself to heal. We have a great young goaltender for many years to come on a terrific contract and I hope we wouldn't lose him to an injury he aggravates by trying to play through it.

Who is as good as Kane that would help us now and in the future that's available in the off-season?

He's a wrecking crew from what I hear. Good solid hands, power-forward game. I really think this has reinvented his career.

he is a natural left winger, a perpetual weakness for the Kings......Kane would be an awesome add. What it would take to get him would hurt but there is no denying that he would improve our roster.

Those are both good questions that I cannot answer, but I do know that I trust DL to make the right decision, and I like what I see in Manchester. I also know that when you try to get players at this time of the year, you usually overpay and that is something I don't anticipate DL doing, especially with him knowing that he will have more cap space at the end of the season.

You're right, I agree. He would be a champion on this team. It's tough for people to get beyond what we have and what we could have, though. Change is always a challenge and generally garners some resistance.

I trust that he believes he'll make the right decision. I agree that Manchester does have some fine candidates, but as we are in a competitive cycle now and going forward, it's usually a good idea to strengthen rather than to grow. We can grow when and as we start to decline.
